Miracle on My Street

It's a MIRACLE, I'm tellin' ya...nothing short of a miracle. Close your eyes and picture this.

Little Brother comes in toting two popsicles (the bus driver often gives the kids popsicles as they exit the bus and Little Brother took two).

Mom (that's me): "WOW! TWO popsicles from the bus driver today?! It must have been a good day."

Little Brother: "Yeah, I got one for me and one for Jordan (that's Big Brother).

Mom: Well, that was sweet of you to think of your brother that way.

Little Brother: Is he awake so I can give it to him? (What you need to know here is that Big Brother, being the teenager that he is, comes in and goes directly upstairs every afternoon and goes to sleep. Big Brother gets out of school first so when Little Brother gets home, he's usually already out).

Little Brother yelling up the stairs: Jordan, I brought you a popsicle...do you want me to bring it to you?

Mom (that's me) praying quietly to herself: Dear Lord, please don't let him say something mean and hateful that will ruin the moment.

Big Brother: Oh, thanks BUDDY, thanks a lot. I don't want it right now so will you put it in the freezer for me so that I can have it later?

THE END

And, if for some reason, this does not seem like a miracle to you, I will assume that YOU don't live with a teenager.

Jordan definitely takes after his mom and dad. He brought tears to my eyes when he put his arm around Braeden at NaNa's funeral. I must say you and Jeff have "done good." :-)
